Coaches Intro
Welcome to the Swan Districts Colts page for 2012. This page will be used as an efficient (and
environmentally friendly) way of communicating with our players and supporters.
I am very much looking forward to the challenge of coaching the team in what will be my first
season in 2012. My first impressions of the club have been that it is a professional and united
organisation, with very passionate and loyal supporters.
I am lucky enough to be working with some very knowledgeable coaches, who have an abundance
of knowledge about our great game. I am rapt to have the assistance of Steve Thomson, Russel
Wholagan, Dave Holman, Trent Davies, James Parsons and Murray Watson. Each will play a critical
role in developing our young talent and I look forward to working with each of them.
We are very lucky to have the additional support of Rick Anderson as Manager and Andrew Budge
as Strength and Conditioning coach.
My previous coaching experience is mainly through amateur club, Trinity-Aquinas where I coached
the colts from 2008 – 2011, during which we were fortunate enough to make a preliminary final and
win two premierships. In 2010, I was involved with the Perth Football Club where I coached the 16s
development squad.
The 2012 season looks to be a very challenging one, where we will endeavour to develop our players
to become league players for the Swan Districts Football Club or potentially, go one step further. I
can assure you that the coaches will be doing everything in their power to empower our boys to be
the best they can be.
