V Swans Officially Open - The Powerhouse Onslow Youth & Community Centre

Thursday, December 14, 2017 - 9:57 AM

V Swans were extremely proud to have officially opened the V Swans Powerhouse Onslow Youth & Community Centre, last Saturday 2 December.
After many long years of planning and coordination - V Swans, the Swan Districts Football Club along with long-time Program Partner - Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project, have officially opened the doors of the Powerhouse Youth & Community Centre to the Onslow community.

The centres grand opening was held on Saturday 2 December with a heap of fun family activities on offer including cupcake decorating, a community mural, face painting and even a spit roast lunch. A big thank you to - Horizon Power for funding the Powerhouse Onslow Youth & Community Centre opening, which was a great event and big success for V Swans and the local Onslow Community.

The V Swans Onslow staff, along with a number of project and community partners, have been hard at work renovating the Powerhouse Youth & Community Centre in Onslow, with Monadelphous sponsoring final landscaping works. The centre is a safe meeting place that welcomes all locals and hosts afterschool activities, playgroups and other events with an aim of building strong community relationships.

The successful opening, renovation and overall project wouldn't have been made possible if it wasn't for some incredible organisations and community stakeholders along with the amazing people that live within the town of Onslow itself. V Swans would like to thank the following partners for their significant contribution to the Powerhouse Onslow Youth & Community Centre construction, renovation and opening.

Project Funding Partners; Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project, Lotterywest and Telstra.
Project Support Partners; North West Builders, Dice Solutions, Shire of Ashburton, Chamber of Commerce (Onslow), Monadelphous, Prime Minister and Cabinet and Bechtel.
Community Partners; Regional Development Australia, McMahons Transport, Munroes, REFAP, Onslow Beach Club, Pilbara Development Commission, Onslow School, Onslow Police, Sheridan Printers, Toll Transport and TSG.
