Vale Jim Craig
It is with great sadness that the Swan Districts Football Club recognises the passing of Life Member, Jim Craig, this morning at the age of 88 years.
Jim played three seasons for the black and white’s in the Reserves, and was an integral part of their 1950 Premiership winning side.
After first being elected in 1968, Jim would go on to serve the club that he loved for 42 years, in various positions on the board of the clubs Past Players & Officials Association. He was the current Junior Vice-President and had held the post of Secretary for many years.
Jim not only received Life Membership in 1989 from the club itself, he received the same honour from the PPOA.
A building contractor by trade, Jim assisted the club in a number of renovations and additions, literally leaving his mark at Bassendean Oval.
The Swan Districts Football Club sends our deepest condolences to Jim’s family and loved ones at this time.
