The Swan Districts Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of young 19 year old ruckman Rhys Peedle.
Peedle joins the club from the Perth Demons, where he has had a distinguished junior career, highlighted by State 18s selection in 2008 and representing Perth in last year’s Colts Grand Final against Swan Districts. He was also honoured with selection as the starting Ruckman in the 2008 WAFL Colts Team of the Year.
Having seen Peedle come through the Colts system and coached against him last year, Swan Districts Coaching and Pathways Manager Greg Harding is well aware of the bright future of this young player. ‘Rhys is a player of great potential and we are ecstatic to have been able to secure his services after a stellar underage career. At 6ft 6in, he will in time be able to hold down both key position and ruck roles at senior level. His 2008 year at Perth Football Club was excellent and with further development we are confident that he can progress through the ranks of WA football. Rhys is a fantastic young person who’s character is of the highest standard and he will more than add to the quality of our list both on the field and off it.’ Look for Rhys to make his debut with the club next weekend against East Fremantle at Steel Blue Oval.
