Hamish More awarded Ron Alexander Auskick Coach of the Year

TOP COACHES HONOURED WITH AWARDS 

LOCAL coaches were honoured at last month's Australian Football Coaches Association awards night in WA, which recognised the efforts and achievements of community coaches at a District level.  The annual AFCA Awards Night, which followed an AFCA High Performance Coaching Course in Western Australia, was attended by special guest, Fremantle Football Club coach Mark Harvey, who presented the awards to State winners. 

 

Award winners included:

- Hamish More (pictured) - Ron Alexander Auskick Coach of the Year -         

- Megan O'Mara - Women's Coach of the Year -         

- Alan Cross - John Dimmer Modified Rules Coach of the Year -         

- Jason Ireland - Brett Barber Youth Coach of the Year -         

- Geoff Wolfenden - Ken Armstrong Community Coach of the Year -         

- Mark Howard - Greg Brehaut Scholarship -         

- Scott Watters - JJ Leonard Medal  

 

The awards followed the High Performance Coaching Course at Subiaco Oval, which featured presentations by former AFL coaches including David Parkin, Stan Alves, Neale Daniher and Rob Wiley.  Aspiring coaches also travelled from New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia for the course, while a large number attended from WA including one female coach.
