Pickering Brook Football Club has swooped on its bronze level accreditation through the Quality Club Program. Bronze level accreditation recognises clubs with good administrative practices and provides a blueprint for club stakeholders to measure their performance in regards to governance, codes of conduct, insurance, food and liquor service, coach and trainer accreditations, volunteer recruitment and retention and community partnerships.
Pickering Brook FC President, Phil Newing said the club was proud of its progress and hoped to further improve its standing in the district by progressing toward silver level accreditation in 2012. “Pickering Brook FC is only in its second year, so this is a defining moment for us as a club. In 2012, we hope to go one better and get the club up to silver level,” said Mr Newing. He said the bronze level accreditation gave Pickering Brook FC the stamp of approval in regards to its processes and said it will help his club to retain quality volunteers and attract new players.
“It shows prospective players that Pickering Brook FC means business and all of its coaches and trainers are accredited. It also shows that we are doing the right thing in terms of canteen, smokefree and liquor licensing regulations,” said Newing. Mr Newing said the club has received strong support from Swans District Manager, Isaac Stewart and Glenn Morley, WAFC Manager of Clubs and Volunteers.
