Hedland Carnival

By Tracey Swami
On the 26th of October, the Hedland carnival was held at the Hedland Senior High School netball courts. Two year eight and two year nine teams went head to head against the two teams from Karratha Senior High School.
All teams played hard in the sweltering heat, while the teachers relaxed under the gazebos.
In the Year 8 division, Karratha Senior High School took top honours beating both teams from Hedland Senior High School. It was Hedland’s turn when it came to the Year 9 & 10 division, with Hedland Red winning that competition.
All Hedland teams were coached by our Year 11 Shooting Goals students who throughout the year completed their Certificate II in Sport Coaching. They did a really good job at giving everyone a fair go and getting us all on court.
We finished the day off with a presentation under the shade on the school oval, we all enjoyed a sausage sizzle, juice box and the best part a swim in the pool!! This was a great way to finish the day off!!
We thank all the people that helped make this possible, a special thanks to Mrs Swami and Miss Sugden and the Karratha girls for coming down and competing with us.
