Swan Districts Appoints New General Manager of Community
Swan Districts Football Club is delighted to announce Brooke Draper as the club’s new General Manager of Community. Brooke will lead the club’s growing community outreach strategy through its metropolitan and regional communities.
The club’s purpose is to build community and develop people. Its vision is to be a well-connected and community engaged football club that helps build a community where everyone belongs, matters and contributes. The club’s expanding community division is responsible for connecting the club with the community it belongs through programs helping build individual sense of belonging and sense of self-worth.
Brooke has worked in the community building industry for most of her life. Most recently she’s been the Acting State Leader for Mission Australia supporting the operations of Western Australia and South Australia which includes responsibility for the operations of community services as well as the Partner in Community contracts as part of the NDIS. She’s also been the General Manager Perth Metropolitan Region for YMCA and the General Manager for WA Disabled Sports Association and Ability Solutions.
Swans Chief Executive Jeff Dennis is looking forward to Brooke joining the team and helping fuel the club’s new business model. “Brooke has managed considerable sized community driven organisations and brings a highly valued set of skills and experience to the position. Her operational and strategic background will be critical to help the club consolidate current programs and also create new programs and new markets”, said Dennis.
Brooke is eager to begin her new role on 30 March. “I’m really impressed with the club’s fresh innovative approach to its business by using the language of sport as its value proposition to connect and engage with marginalised communities. I look forward to playing a role helping drive it to new heights”.
