Swans Student Placement's
La Salle College and Cyril Jackson High School school-based trainees, are spending one day a week at Steel Blue Oval learning about how a state league football club operates.
Steven from La Salle College is thoroughly enjoying his time here at SDFC. “I am amazed at all of the different operations that go on at a football club. I thought that a footy club just dealt with footy business”.
Steven has been helping with game day operations, memberships and community outreach programs. It was during one of these community outreach programs where Steven received his nickname “STOMPER”. The nickname has stuck and is now etched on his Year 12 Leavers Jacket.
Kris, from Cyril Jackson was part of a program run by Swans in 2019. Kris, along with his school mates, loved the program and as a result chose Swan Districts to complete his work placement for 2020.
“I’m loving my time at Swans and love the work I do here… it varies so much.”
Swans are fortunate to have these two young men helping us out and we look to continue the relationship with these two schools and the young students they educate.
