Swan Districts - April 2022 Injury Update
The Swan Districts League side will head into Round 1 with almost a full team to choose from. After injuries late last season unsettled the black and whites run in the finals series, a clean bill of health for most players will see them push for a more successful 2022 season.
See below to track the recovery of the Swans current injury list:
Sam Fisher
2020 Sandover Medallist, Sam Fisher, underwent shoulder surgery at the end of the 2021 season. A dedicated approach to his rehabilitation over the Summer and pre-season allowed Sam return to unrestricted training last month. Pulling up well after playing limited minutes in the scratch matches against the West Coast Eagles and Claremont, Sam is set to run out for the black and whites in Round 1 on Good Friday at Leederville Oval.
Nathan Ireland
After a strong end to the 2021 season saw Swans big man, Nathan Ireland, play five out of his last six games in the League side, an acute traumatic shoulder dislocation finished his year early in the Round 21 clash against South Fremantle. Going under the knife in the Summer, Nathan has recovered well from the surgery and, like Sam, also played limited minutes in the scratch matches against the West Coast Eagles and Claremont.
Brayden Spackman
Since making his League debut in 2020, Brayden Spackman has become an important part of the Swans backline. It’s been approximately 9 months since Brayden underwent a knee ACL reconstruction, and by all accounts, his dedication and diligence in his recovery sees him on track for a mid-season return.
