Swans ready to launch into 2020
All teams at the Swan Districts Football Club are ready to fly into the year, having had their official season launches this week.
Starting with the WAFLW on Tuesday night, the ladies from Rogers Cup, Reserves and League were all presented with their jerseys for season 2020.
In an exciting reveal for the large, unexpecting crowd, inaugural AFLW Fremantle Docker and Swans favourite, Ashley Sharp, was called up to receive her jumper, having recently found out she is eligible to play this season. If that wasn’t exciting enough, WAFLW league coach, Leith Woods, also announced to supporters that former Swan and current Richmond Tiger, Akec Makur Chuot, would also take to the field, if border restrictions allowed.
2020 will also see each of the women’s sides captained by a strong mix of experienced and newly appointed leaders.

Thursday night was the men’s turn. Three legends of the club in Ron Boucher, Brian Close and Craig Hoyer presented the seniors with their jerseys, entertaining the crowd with comical banter of the players and each other.
Some familiar faces will make up the senior men’s leadership group, in what is expected to be a strong season for all Swans sides. The Colts and Reserves will see multiple players get the opportunity to lead their teams, with captains named ahead of each game.
